Our debut at the World Football Summit was a great success, with hundreds of attendees from the football industry from all over the world trying out the football VR evolution in our BeFootball 1VR1 Stadium.
Held inside the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, BeFootball’s installation sponsored by Finetwork was visible from the field and the Main Stage, and was the main technological innovation of the event.
Among the visitors and players we got the chance to talk with Kike Levy, Sports Strategic Partnership Manager EMEA at Facebook about virtual reality and Facebook efforts around the metaverse and the possibilities for the football industry to be present in that new space.
We also had special visitors from the football world, like the journalist Julio Maldonado aka Maldini, who tried virtual reality for the first time with us, or Paco Díez, President of Madrid’s Football Federation.
But if there was a visit that took all the protagonism, that was the one of the Atlético de Madrid football player Marcos Llorente, who has recently agreed to be BeFootball’s co-founder. We’ll soon organise a press call to give you more details on this, but for the moment let us share Marcos first statements about his commitment with BeFootball:
"I am really excited to be part of this disruptive project. BeFootball VR brings a new dimension for the football experience. I believe we are building an important part of the industry's future, and not only as a new entertainment format but also as a tool for future football players to train their skills."
We also got some great feedback from all these users and made a lot of business contacts, so we’ll probably be sharing exciting news soon!
BeFootball’s match has just started!
The World Football Summit Europe event, one of the most important ones in the football industry was held in the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium the 23rd and 24th of September 2021.
