Our debut at the World Football Summit was a huge success, with hundreds of football industry attendees from around the world trying out the VR-evolution of football in our BeFootball 1VR1 Stadium.
From inside the Wanda Metropolitano stadium, the BeFootball installation, which was sponsored by Finetwork, was visible from the pitch and the main stage, and was the main technological innovation of the event.
Hundreds of visitors had the opportunity to try out the BeFootball 1VR1 experience, and were also able to enjoy the demo of our upcoming virtual reality game, BeFootball SuperPlayer.
Among the visitors and players we had the opportunity to talk to Kike Levy, Sports Strategic Partnership Manager EMEA at Facebook, about virtual reality and Facebook’s efforts around the metaverse and the possibilities for the football industry to be present in this new space.
We also had relevant visitors from the world of football, such as the journalist Julio Maldonado aka Maldini, who tried virtual reality for the first time with us, or Paco Díez, President of the Madrid Football Federation.
If there was one visit that stole the limelight, it was undoubtedly that of Atlético de Madrid footballer Marcos Llorente, who recently agreed to co-found BeFootball. We will soon organise a press call to give you more details about it, but for now we are going to share Marcos’ first statements about his commitment to BeFootball:
“I am really excited to be part of this disruptive project. BeFootball brings a new dimension to the football experience. I believe we are building an important part of the future of the industry, and not only as a new entertainment format, but also as a tool for future football players to train their skills”.
We have also received very good feedback from all the users who played on our 1VR1 course and we have made a lot of business contacts, so we will probably share interesting news soon!
