We are very pleased to be among the three finalists of the World Football Summit Awards (WFS) in the category of Outstanding Innovation Initiative presented by N3XT Sports, with the BeFootball SuperPlayer VR Football Tournament, the first virtual reality football video game tournament ever organised, opening a new category for VR football eSports.
The WFS is one of the most important events in the football industry and a key conference for monitoring, analysis and perspectives on the present and future of football as a sport and business. Driven by a global community of professionals who share a unique passion for the business of sport, its mission is to promote innovation to drive the progress of football as a game and an industry. As an active part of the football industry, it is an honour to be among the nominees.
The Outstanding Innovation Initiative category is known as a celebration of the industry’s innovators and disruptors, and includes both current and potential “game changers” in the industry.
The initiative we submitted for the awards, and which is now among the three finalists, was the first virtual reality tournament organised around the game BeFootball SuperPlayer VR, in which more than 2,100 people participated and around 2,500 games were played.
If for the users this tournament has allowed them to get first-hand experience of an attractive VR experience, for BeFootball the competition has meant the validation of the business approach, data for the product strategy and also a strong reinforcement of our positioning as a company specialised in VR. virtual reality and football.
